Browse privately, protected and ad-free

Spotflux is a diminutive application that allows you to browse the internet securely, privately, and safely. The way it works is by routing all your traffic through the Spotflux cloud after it has been encrypted so that the location and identity of your computer can't be detected.

Keep your data safe

Spotflux is great for browsing on public wifi networks or if you just want to encrypt and secure your connection say, when you're entering sensitive information on a site.

Currently, the only features available with the free version are web encryption and the ability to hide your IP address, the rest you will have to upgrade to premium to access. You will also see sponsored adverts in the free version.

You get tons of extra features if you upgrade. One of the coolest features of the premium version is its ability to block ads. There are browser extensions that do this, but it's nice to have Spotflux block advertisements system-wide. This also means that you won't be tracked online and it will help save a little bandwidth since you don't have to load heavy flash ads.

Like Hotspot Shield, Spotflux also offers malware and virus protection. This is a nice buffer between you and an infection. It is still recommended that you run an antivirus program alongside though.

If you require a proxy, Spotflux will let you enter in your proxy server manually. This is great for those who are paying for a proxy service, but it unfortunately doesn't provide a built-in proxy like TunnelBear.

Manual or automatic launch

Once you have downloaded it, SpotFlux runs silently in the background and sits in your system tray. There is only an on/off button on the main interface. After it's turned on, you can forget about it. You can choose whether to launch it on start or manually turn it on and you don't have to configure anything or worry about what settings to choose.

Trusted internet connection

There are plenty of programs like Hotspot Shield, TunnelBear, and CyberGhost VPN that allow you to browse content that is not available to you locally. Spotflux differentiates itself by touting its privacy and security features. Overall, Spotflux is a lightweight app that will protect, secure, and make your browsing private.

Be careful. I downloaded and installed the latest version without a problem. Spotflux actually worked quite well and fast when it was enabled. However, my problems began when I DISABLED it. I was having all kinds of wireless connectivity problems when Spotflux was turned off. As soon as I uninstalled it, my wireless problems disappeared.

Softonic

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
